The Bauhinia variegata (Orchid Tree) Prize is a small semi-evergreen shrub to a decidosy or tree with a scattered umbrella of light green leaves, 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) long, deeply slotted at the top and base, and resembles the butterfly wings. It blooms profusely from late winter to early spring, charming orchid-like flowers, bright pink, purple and white, 2-3 inches.
